Dropping By the Bobbleheads.com Warehouse

by Peter Askew on March 4, 2010

Warren Royal was extremely gracious to allow @ShanePike and me to drop by the Bobbleheads.com warehouse this week for a visit.

The short long story on Bobbleheads is this: Warren grabs both singular and plural versions of the .com at auction a few years back. He develops an ecommerce site before the ’08 election. Sales take off. He begins designing and developing his own premium quality bobbleheads and establishes a relationship with an overseas bobblehead producer. He expands into custom bobblehead production. Orders and inventory continue to grow, allowing him to lease an office & warehouse in north Atlanta to pack, ship, and run the business.

That – in a nutshell – is where he stands today. In short, this guy represents what every domainer could and should do… me included.

So when we were both invited to drop by his warehouse for a bobblehead tour, we (very quickly and emphatically) said yes. To quote my twitter post, “Probably the only time in my life I’ll be able to say this: ‘I’m visiting a bobblehead production company today for a tour’“..

Here are a few pics from our visit.. along with a video at the end.. enjoy:

To show the quality of Warren’s line of bobbleheads, here’s the King Tut line head he’s producing alongside the Castello brothers (see video below). Note, I tapped the head once, and this was the bobble effect..(pretty impressive imo) .. in other words, these ain’t the cheap plasticky ones you might be familiar with. They’re the solid, polyresin feeling, hand-painted real-deal.

I am just learning of you Pete. Warren and his bobble heads are great and your story is entertaining too. I haven’t seen Warren in a couple of years but he is extremely intelligent and creative. The last time I was with him, we were enjoying some great mexican food at a restaurant in Cumming that escapes me at the moment.
